Why did they withdraw Cyberpunk 2077 from the marketplace?

Cyberpunk 2077 was, probably, one of the most waited videogame ever. With the promise that it will be an unmissable jewel, one of the most beautiful title ever, and even thanks to the presence of Keanu Reeves as protagonist, the videogame has been loved even before it was published.

However after the big moment something went wrong. Many complained because some promises have not been kept. But, especially, Cyberpunk 2077 had big problems, as much as to let Sony withdraw it from the Playstation Store and to guarantee a full refund to all already bought it. Let’s see together what happened.

The release of Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 was an ambitious videogame, full of promises. Maybe too many promises. Maybe too much ambitious. All were already talking about it before its release.

However the release of the videogame was postponed many times. The producer of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red, had many problems during the realization of the game. So the first delays. Then, there was the pandemic to further postpone the release. Until the december of the 2020, when the such waited game finally arrived to all the stores of the consoles.

Finally the users could see with their own eyes the most ambitious and chatted videogame of the year. But what they found out was a title filled with every kind of bugs and glitches.

The users started to complain, as much as that Sony was forced to withdraw the game from the Playstation Store and to refund all the unsatisfied consumers.

Bugs and Glitches especially on Playstation 4 and Xbox One

The title doesn’t seem to have big problems on the next gen consoles and on pc. But for many users is almost impossible to play to it on the old generation consoles.

Cyberpunk 2077 had big problems since its release

To ask for the refund, infact, were mainly the users Playstation 4 and Xbox One. The forums and official channels were covered by bad reviews and outraged comments already few hours after the release of the videogame.

On Cyberpunk 2077 the bugs and the glitches multiplied as much as to make almost impossible to finish a single session of game in peace.

Cars that pass through the walls or that took off by following inexplicable air routes. Figures that start to act very strange. Immortal enemies. Wrong landscapes. Impossible and inexplicable phenomenos. These are only few of the problems told by the users. Sony was forced to prompty withdraw the videogame from its own store.

What did happen to the moment of the withdraw of Cyberpunk 2077 from the Playstation Store

The Playstation Store is one of the biggest virtual shops of videogames and it’s, obviusly, owned by the most loved console ever.

After all of these problems Sony withdrawn the videogame from its own market, by claiming that their first thought is the one to make the users fully happy and satisfied. For this reason all the ones that already bought Cyberpunk 2077 and that are having these problems, will received a complete refund.

Meanwhile, the videogame lost the 30%. Currently the videogame isn’t available anymore on the Playstation store and all the ones that ask for it are receiving the refund. All the ones that already bought it and that didn’t have problems, can go on playing.

The other stores

After few days even Microsoft had to do something about it. All the users that bought Cyberpunk 2077 on the Microsoft Store to play with Xbox had a refund. Anyway the videogame is still available for everyone would like to buy it.

Meanwhile, in the world, other physical and digital stores are taking similar action. Game Stop Usa is refunding all the customers that bought Cyberpunk 2077 and that ask for it. Game Stop Italia, instead, didn’t take any similar action yet.
